Our journey began in 2007 in a small garage with a simple purpose – teach guitar and drums to students who are passionate about music. From then to now, we have grown into a well-equipped institute, providing a holistic environment for students to play, perform and bring out their creative best.
Ninth Chord Music Academy (NCMA) is located in Bengaluru and was founded by Girish Prabhu, who strives to provide education in Music and Performance. NCMA offers contemporary style music education in various instruments. The courses range from Beginner to Advanced levels, with a certification at the completion of each level.
NCMA believes in the spirit of Live Performance. STRINGBOW, the annual event instils the invaluable experience of performing as a group, testing an individual’s playing skills and providing a sense of confidence while playing on stage for a huge audience. Apart from the annual event, there are other mini events, conducted at the academy, that encourages students to further hone their skills.
The values and beliefs that NCMA holds are simple, yet profound. We believe in disciplined practice, exploring our musical creativity and developing a sustained passion for instruments and music.
Founder
Mr. Girish Prabhu is the founder of NCMA who taught and managed the entire academy with very few hands in its nascent stage.
He is a passionate teacher, and he finds his love in song writing, singing and composing. He is well versed in playing the guitar, drums and the piano. Under the Girish Prabhu Collective label, he has released several albums and songs. These are available on all Digital Music platforms and Apps. He loves collaborating with different singers across genres. Girish was the owner of Doppler Guitars, a custom guitar making company based out of Bangalore between 2010 and 2016.
In 2007, he was featured as the Breakthrough Artist on World Space Satellite Radio for his first Album titled Zubaani. At present, he is the co-owner of Cantus Musical Instruments (www.cantusmusical.com), a company that makes guitars which are completely manufactured in India.
